Web quest: Environmental issues

Part1:

What’s the average carbon footprint of a person?

The average footprint fot people in Chile is 4.9 tonnes. In my case my total my total  average footprint is 12.35 tonnes of CO2e

Part 2:

-Hand washing dishes can use up to 50 % more of water than using an efficient dishwasher.

-Only about 10% of global energy comes from renewables.

-True or false? Appliances that are turned off don’t use any electricity.

False because many appliances continue to use energy for features like clocks and remote control sensons evenwhen they are turned off

-Can you make paper out of hemp?
yes because the hemps is the more humane and clean option, requires less land acrege to grow than timber, has fewer chemical byproducts, and car be recycled more frequently than tree timber
Part 3:
In my opinion the best tip is to reduce or not use plastic bags when you buy and use a cloth bag or a bag for life, for example in the supermarket carry your cloth bag when you shop.
Another tip is to use the boxes in the store to recycle, separating the waste according to categories so that they can be taken to recycling points.
The last tip is to make the most of the space in your dumpster for things you can't recycle like colored or printed boxes, crushing them first to maximize the space.

Hello!                                                                                                            Today in my post I going to talk about Oscar Niemeyer (15 December 1907-5 December 2012) a famous architect I have admired.                                                                                                He was born  in Brazil. In 1934 he graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro, he later worked with Lucio Costa a famous architect.                                                                               They made the works of the Ministry of Education of Rio (1936) with Le Corbusier. In 1939 they built the Brazilian pavilion for the New York World's Fair.
The mayor of Belo Horizonte commissioned him to build some buildings in the city (1941).  He integrated the painting and sculture with architecture in this proyect.
In the 1950s, Brazil's President Juscelino Kubitschek appointed him advisor to Nova Cap, the organization responsible for founding the country's new capital, Brasilia.
He has won numerous awards including the Lenin Peace Prize (1963), the Pritzker Prize (1988) and the Prince of Asturias Prize for the Arts (1989).

Resultado de imagen para oscar nimeyerI like his proyects because he use power colors and a modern shapes in his proyects , for example in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói he use the  red color for the access ramp that makes your project stand out in the context.                                                                                 bye!

My fauvorite subject

Resultado de imagen para arquitectura clásica partenonHello!
In this post I am going to talk about my favorite subject in this semester of the university, Culture of classical architecture
This asignature is based about the periods about the classic architecture and I have learned many periods starting with the Greek period,  the Roman period, the Paleochristian architecture who is a period and a specific stile, and now I learn about the Renaissance. My section also learned about the Gotic architecture but this is and exception of this course because the Gotic stile is not a classic but this happened in the middle of the classical era.
Because it is necessary to know the gotic architecture for the career, the professor Patricio Duarte decided to teach us this subject as well.
I like very much this course because I love the classic architecture. I think about that period when people did not have the materials and machinery we have now to build they made a lot of huge buildings that this today are still some standing and this is amagazing!.
Currently most things are made by machines, in that time from a block of marble  were made columns
You imagine yourself building palace or a church with huge block of marble?
I hope your answer, see you!

My favourite photo

Hi everyone! How are you?
Today I want to talk about my favourite photo.
I took this photo on April when I going to my home, that day I felt very good because I had a good qualification in the workshop and in the theoretic class I worked in a new proyect for structure and I liked that. When I was going to my home, I looked this flower to the distance and I wanted to get then to this to see this.
When I arrived I realized this it was a hibiscus and I decided take a picture to that. This photo have a nice colors of contrast and have my favoury colors the pink and the greenwater. When I look the photo I really like that because apart from being a pretty flower and had my favorite colors, I feel this photo summarize this day by means of the colors that were like the joy of that day, being able to remember that day perfectly with this picture.
I hope you like my photo and that also reminds you of some important moment like my.

Environment and my career

Hello!
Today I am going to talk to you about how the climate affect my career Architecture, especially how the climate change affect the buildings and the houses
To begin with, architecture is related to its immediate surroundings and the terrain in which it is located, so it is very important to know the climate that this terrain presents because this define the types of materials you used and can help to provide ideas for the design.
With climate change the areas change their climate so it could be a much more rainy terrain that would affect the building or could become a more arid terrain with more solar radiation that would affect the facade of the building because this was not considered in the design because before the climate change this was not a variable to consider because there was another climate.
These changes that take place in the climate and affect the buildings have made a change to the form to construct a building, trying to respónd to the all possible variablesso that it does not suffer, this is also reflected in the people because they as well building also suffer the consequences of climate change, in Chile some people are starting to become aware of this and are changing to improve climate change.
For this reason in the future I would like to make buildings that are ecological and do not harm the environment.
See you!

my favorite piece of technology

Hi!
Today I want to talk about my favorite piece of technology, this is the computer.
The first computer I had was given to me by my mom and dad when I had 15 yeras old.
I use this every day it is amazing but I think I use to much some days. Some times I used to play a games, write papers for to the school but  now I use to much this for work in my proyects of workshop because I need to used for my proyects the programs that are in my  compute . Also I use to listen to music and to check out my social networks.

Resultado de imagen para notebookI really like it because I can many things in a single computer and I find that amagazing!. You can search and share information with others people, call or writte to the peoples who are in other country and it's instantaneous!. You can also use the computer to listen to music or read a book, also you use to work in the school, university or in a job which makes it very versalite and does not limit you to a single use.
My life without the computer would be bad because I  need it for my career. What is your favourite piece of technology?
